Travel | Packing Light

Picture
As you guys know if you follow my YouTube or social media, I was away in Florida for a couple weeks visiting my mum and was challenged to pack everything in a carry on. I accepted and triumphed! So if you're a chronic over packer like me, rejoice! there is hope! xo
*Just thought I'd let you know I've been trying to write this post for over a month but there were some technical issues that took way too long to sort out so now I will be catching up and getting back into things*

I honestly was quite impressed that I made everything fit in the back PLUS staying under weight (but if you want to be sneaky when just packing carry on, check in online before you're flight and you can skip security and therefore no risk of getting charged for your bag ;).

I love options when I'm going anywhere, even if I'm only going away for a couple of days so I've been a chronic over packer my whole life. Despite being well travelled, I just could never part with certain items "just in case". This was made even more apparent when I moved to England with three suitcases busting and the seams. But somehow I was able to maximize my outfits with lots of mix-n-match items that could go from casual to dressy.

I go through the pieces in my video so I won't list them and I will also link the video showing 8 looks I wore while in Florida. I didn't end up wearing a number of pieces I packed because I didn't go anywhere dressy enough for them or I'd get dressed so late in the day that it was a waste of a good outfit that no one would see ahaha. But my tip is to stick to just a couple of bottoms (obvious your destination will dictate the style - mine were mostly shorts, I wore the jeans only when flying) that are simple to mix and match and perhaps one bold piece. Then you can pair up the tops. I tried to make one shirt fit with at least two bottoms, some pieces would go with all the bottoms or tops, work with what you have. It's definitely important to try on the looks while packing because (unfortunately) some looks are better in our heads than in reality. For shoes, I limited myself both by style and colour. Again, depending on your destination and activities you could get away with only one or two pairs. Anywho, that's about it; Good luck!

So don't forget to tell me what kind of a packer you are & which outfit was your favourite xo
