Pantone Colour for 2013 - EMERALD

Back in December Pantone announced the 2013 Colour of the year, along with 9 other colours that we can look forward to in Spring & Summer...Check out my Polyvore outfit showcasing this great colour!

     I will be showing you the other colours in a future post but I wanted to focus on this colour first since it is the one you will probably be faced with the most this year. When I hear emerald I immediately think of a big ring and other jewel tones. We have seen jewel tones in clothing as of late as well as in beauty and they can be worn in so many ways and look beautiful every time. 
     I am looking forward to seeing all the looks to come with emerald pieces as either accents, or the main focus. What I want to know is do you go out and pick items based on an 'it' colour, and try to incorporate it into your wardrobe or do you think people are crazy for focusing on a single colour? Personally, I don't run out to buy items in the it colour but if I see something that I like that happens to be in that colour, I would definitely pick it up. 
     I created a look on my Polyvore account the other day (if you don't know what it is click the link and check it out, great place to create collages of fashion/beauty/etc & buy the items!) based around Emerald and I have started a collection on my profile for the Pantone Colours of 2013 to create some looks I would love to wear. I'm attaching one below of an Emerald look that I think is classic, sophisticated and edgy at the same time.
