OOTD | Lesley Hampton Photoshoot

     So last Friday I was up at the crack of dawn (quite literally - it was gross) to get ready for a shoot downtown. This shoot was to showcase my friend Lesley's designs. I've had the pleasure of wearing four of the pieces displayed in the shoot and got to see a brand new piece made for the shoot. But here's what I wore as MUA ;)

     The weather was calling for some rain and chilly temps so I thought "hey it would be smart to wear a turtleneck!" Little did I know that I would be doing makeup in a room that felt like a sauna aha. We aired out my friend's brothers apartment, but I was still sweating bullets. Once I went outside, it was perfect!
     I've had a love/hate relationship with turtlenecks, when I was a kid I wore them a lot (but I doubt ever by choice) and then when I was older (probably high school-ish) I didn't choose to wear them unless it was absolutely freezing out. Now, it's chilly and I'm like "aw yeah turtleneck day!" (I'm a very strange creature). Also love the colour of my scarf against the olive shade of the shirt. This was my latest knitting project and I adore this colour. I've been a huge lover of burgundy but this colour (called "porcelain red") is so pretty!  
     I'm definitely in love with these jeans and want to live in them, but I find myself, clumsy as ever, sticking my toes and my fingers through the distressed patches and I'm scared to rip them aha. 
     The jacket is a staple piece and I'm so glad I finally have one, and now I want more! It layers really well with sweaters which is great since the weather really is going downhill. I love how it sits done up with a scarf and because of the cut I can zip it up really high if it's breezy. Once the s--...sn--...snow (EWW) comes it will be put away until spring, unless of course we have some mild days.
     The wellies are also a staple piece for wet weather and we did end up having a touch of rain as we were wrapping the shoot so they didn't go to waste. I think these are the perfect height and that's what makes them so versatile. I have a knee high pair I wear in the winter but they are such a mission to wear if it's not actually pouring rain all day. These are lightweight and protect my feet without making me overly hot. They did have them in a nude colour when I bought them but since it was last year I'm not sure what they would have in stock now!
