I'm going to give some hair background for those of you who may be new to my blog and my hair! I'm naturally a brunette and have had long hair (to some "very" long hair) for many years now. I would say that every couple of years I do a decent hair chop, especially when I get a bit bored with my hair and don't feel like colouring it. Until May of this year, I had been back to my brown hair for a couple of years and in February I chopped off A LOT of hair. In May, I went back to my red for a few months and recently took the plunge and became a blonde. I never in my life thought I would go blonde but I'M LOVING IT!! So a couple months ago, I was asked by Irresistible Me if I would like to try out their extensions and to look around their site and see if anything caught my eye. This is when I was deciding if I should get brunette extensions or blonde, but seeing as my brown hair has always seemed difficult to match I thought, why not go blonde now? That way if/when I go back to my brown hair I can dye the extensions to my natural colour. That also meant that I'd have a blonde weft to bring with me to my hairdresser to match my colour perfectly. My girl nailed the colour! Details
Impressions + Review When you receive your IM box, the package inside has two sections to it. The smaller section has a test weft that you can take out to see if the colour matches or not; if it doesn't, you just pop it back in and send it back (they offer free returns and exchanges!). If it does match then you can safely open up the second section to the package (this has a safety seal on it that once opened makes the extensions non-refundable/returnable). As mentioned I got the 200g set which includes 10 pieces, but what makes this set different to other companies is that their 4-clip weft is a TRIPLE WEFT...let me repeat that...T-R-I-P-L-E weft. There are three layers of hair in this clip. If I had my full length of hair and just wanted some additional volume, I could probably get away with just using this one weft. Then if that wasn't cool enough, instead of the typical four 1-clip wefts and two 2-clip, they have FIVE 2-clips and two 1-clips! This is definitely what set them apart from other companies in my mind. The hair when first taken out of the package feels thick, has a nice shine to it but not overly shiny where it doesn't look natural. Holding all the hair together is thicker than my normal ponytail so I was definitely impressed. The texture of the hair is almost identical to my hair which adds to the blendability. I will note that when I first took out the tester I thought that it looked a little bit rough with some strands sticking out along the edges. I inquired about it and was assured that was the typical look (but I could exchange if I wasn't pleased with it) but I was confident to open up the rest of the package. Unfortunately, one of my 2-clip wefts came with a broken clip, but they do send 3 additional clips in the package. I'm currently choosing not to fix it and will just leave that weft for future use. I have curled and straightened the hair and it's been great both times. I find my hair blended the best when I did a curled high ponytail due to how my ends are cut. You'll see in photos below that when my hair and the extensions are straight, from the back my hair doesn't blend well because my ends are bluntly cut. When they are pulled to the front they look great. I have worn them down while curled and they blended better. They are great for braids and despite having so much hair they don't feel heavy on my head. I did have to get used to wearing them at first because of the weight but I'd say the only thing I worry about during the day is the clips showing and that's because I have very fine hair. I feel like they can be seen when they can't so I suppose that's better than not knowing they are showing and feeling like they are covered aha. On the note of me having fine hair, I opted for the 200g set over the 140g set because it's easier to use less of the wefts, versus not having enough. I know there are recommendations that finer hair go for less weight but I decided to get the largest set and then pick and choose which pieces I want to use depending on the desired look. So far it's been working great for me. So if you are on the fence just think of it that way. I haven't officially "washed" the extensions (it's suggested to wash them every 10-20 wears) but I did try to use a heat protectant spray on them when curling them and found that it didn't sit well and the ends looked a bit frazzled. So all I did was rinse out the product and allow the extensions to air dry. The extensions are "straight" but when they air dry they have a bit of wave to them, so you'll have to run a straightener over them if your hair is naturally pin straight. Overall, I'm very happy with these extensions and I totally recommend them! One of my bosses has already purchased a pair after seeing them on me and hearing my thoughts. I'm looking forward to her getting them and helping her out with wearing them. If you watch the video review below you will also see how I clip in my extensions with a before/after of my hair! Let me know what you think of them and don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. Note: I'm not being paid to say any of this, it's 100% my honest opinion and I don't make any money from the discount code, it's just to help you guys out!
