So getting ready for the Fashion show last week I realized I would finally have the time to whiten my teeth. I have a couple of these 2hr express strips floating around, receiving one in a sample box & the others free from a salon. If you'd like to hear my thoughts keep reading! I have to admit my teeth really aren't that badly discoloured but sometimes it seems worse than others. I wasn't sure what to results to expect, but after two hours I had hoped for more than what I got. I tried to keep the lighting consistent when doing these shots but considering the natural lighting was fading they aren't perfect. Flash: Above Before / Below After Natural Lighting: Above Before/Below After The second set of photos with natural light give you a better comparison, I did see a different, more in person than in photos but still not quite what I would have expected with two hours.
Now onto the nitty gritty: Product: Crest 3D 2 hour Express Whitestrips Description: "give you a whiter smile in the time it takes to watch a movie. Whiten for 2 hours and get noticeable teeth whitening results." Price: ~ $45-50 depending where you buy it & it comes with 2 treatments only Results: Minor whitening Thoughts: Honestly, I've tried the 30 minute strips as well and find they slip and slide and these strips have the "advanced seal" and it is definitely a super seal. They didn't slip from my teeth at all, I did have the bits on the back of my teeth lift a bit due to saliva but when I went to pull these off I was surprised how much effort I had to use! So I'm impressed with that. I didn't have any real tooth sensitivity during or after use but I must admit I don't understand how people do anything with these strips on. I can barely breathe through my mouth because my saliva feels like poison. That sounds dramatic but I can't swallow while using these and every ~30 minutes or so (max) I had to spit to find relief. The odd time I swallowed even a bit I felt like my esophagus was burning. I would really like to hear other peoples view on this because I honestly can't figure out what I'm suppose to do without choking... I was reading up on other reviews online and it seems that most people didn't see much of a difference either and Crest's response to some of the comments was: "We appreciate you trying the Crest 3D 2-Hr Whitestrips and I'm sorry you didn't get the whitening results you expected. These Whitestrips are ideal for unexpected events when there is no time to plan. If you’re seeking professional level whitening we’d love for you to try our best whitening product – Crest 3D White Professional Effects. Hope you'll give them a try!" Uh, what? No...if anything these should have more power for an unexpected event, and the other product should have a gradual whitening process since you using it over an extended period of time. That is my opinion but I'm sure most would agree. Overall, I was definitely disappointed and don't know if I'll try a second treatment but I wouldn't spend the money on this treatment. I would however consider the Professional Effects but not any time soon. If you have ever tried ANY of the Crest teeth whitening products I would love to hear your experiences: good, bad or ugly! Hope I saved you some money if you were considering this as an option, if not I hope you get better results than I did! *Bonus fact* These products do expire BUT really all it means is that the product isn't as powerful. I have 30 minute strips that have been expired for a while but when I used them I still saw results so if you have a box stashed away from years ago that you forgot about, don't throw them out! they can still be used! xo
