I received a glorious package from Pantene a couple of weeks ago as a thank you for tweeting them during the Oscars. I was going to write a post but chose not to, but within this wonderful package I received a Sarah Potempa Beachwaver which is a new hot tool on the market, and let me tell you this is AMAZING. First thing you need to know is that my hair is a pain in the arse to curl and keep curled. The only method I've really found to keep my hair curly is using rollers which take an absolute lifetime to do because I have to do it from damp hair & wait hours and hours for it to dry. So you can imagine I don't curl my hair very often. My other curling iron never really kept my hair curled even with massive amounts of hairspray and would drop/go straight(er) within in an hour or so. SO I was determined to put this baby to the test and have the best hair to test it out on. It passed with flying colours! Here is how the Beachwaver is described on the website: "The Beachwaver is what you have all been waiting for. Featured on the Toay Show 3 times (Kathie Lee and Hoda's Favourite things!), Star Magazine, Teen Vogue, US Weekly, Shape, Allure and rapidly becoming the favourite styling tools for celebrities and moms, this curling iron will save you time and leave you looking like you just left the red carpet! Sara and her sister Erin worked on developing this innovative rotating curling iron for over two years. The technology is unsurpassed (with customize extra long barrel, digital temperature control, and Left/Right control buttons), the idea is simple, and your hair will look fabulous. Guaranteed!" The best feature is definitely the fact that it does the work for you, rotating either left or right depending on what side of your face you are working with. It automatically curls your hair away from your face, but if you are someone who likes to alternate directions you can still do that just remember to alternate between the left/right buttons. I chose to do all the curls in the same direction and did go through my hair in layers, although I've seen it done all in one go. It didn't take that long for me to get through my hair even with my length and I got really nice ringlets that I shook out for looser curls. I didn't use any hairspray because I wanted to see how long they would last and the curls started to drop after maybe 4hrs (which is AMAZING FOR ME) and I still had decent curls left in my hair after 12hrs. If I used hairspray they probably would have been immaculate after all that time. The waves that resulted after a day kept for a couple of days and my hair still had great volume. I'm actually blown away and will definitely be curling my hair a LOT more. Here are a few more photos of the Beachwaver from the website: To hear more of my thoughts & see the Beachwaver in action just watch the video below!
