Battle of the Balms | Rimmel, NYC, Revlon Intense Colour Balms

Picture
This weeks video is a bit different to my normal ones but I really do enjoy seeing comparisons of similar products. I wish I could do more of these posts/videos. So today is a Battle of the Balms, which brand will win? We shall see ;)

Revlon: ($8.49 at Target)
My least favourite of the bunch but I think it came down to the fact that this was the matte formula and it makes my lips look dry no matter what. I think the other formulas (balm stain & the lacquer) may be better but at the moment I'm not willing to pay to find out. There are ten shades of the matte balm and I wish I'd like it more because I'm LOVING the look of matte lipsticks, and have been reaching a lot for my NYX ones.

NYC: ($3.97 at Walmart / $3.99 at Target)
I definitely love these two, they glide on smooth and have great pigmentation. The nude is definitely going to be my go-to and the plum is the perfect transition colour between Winter/Spring, Summer/Fall! The colour holds well for both shades and lasts through eating and drinking. Feels moisturizing, doesn't look or feel dry even after hours and is so easy to touch up if you want to. Available in 12 colours (although I don't believe I've seen all available in Canada, my displays maybe had 6-8).

 *WINNER*
Rimmel ($5.98 at Walmart)
This was definitely my favourite and it smells like marshmallows! The colour glides on smooth, the formula feels great on the lips, not at all drying and it has amazing staying power. Lasted through food and drinks for me for several hours and is easy to touch up on the go. It's available in 7 shades but none of them really stood out to me other than I Want Candy and the red (but I resisted the temptation to pick it up). If you are looking for any of these colours though I would highly recommend this!

Have you tried either of these brands or any of the other drugstore versions (like Flower Cosmetics, Milani, Hard Candy, etc) ? I'd love to hear what your experience was and which shades you picked up. Also, let me know what lipstick colour your digging now that Spring is arriving (slowly, but surely).
