8/7/2012 0 Comments Mani Monday | August 7Hello Nail Lovers! I have finally figured out what I wanted to do with my nails again. I really do have to pre-think my manicures and pedicures because sometimes I just go crazy! I wanted to do an Olympic Nail tutorial but it didn't fit with my filming schedule & I didn't want to do it after they were finished aha. So decided to just do something simple. I did both a mani and a pedi today and I'll be breaking it down with reviews on each of them. All three colours are from Julep over the past couple of months and they are all very pretty colours. L-R: Jessica, Kate & Daphne (above no flash, below with flash) Daphne: Fresh seafoam green creme I painted my toes Daphne and I found the polish very smooth and easy to work with. I used two coats just because I walk around barefoot a lot and like my polish to last a long time but I don't think it really needed it. It's a great creme finish and I think the colour is versatile, it can be worn in the summer as a fun colour or in the fall in can brighten up a darker wardrobe. Jessica with Flash Jessica: Soft and sweet baby blue creme. This is a great colour as well, but a little harder to work with which was a little bit disappointing. I was able to work it all out but it was a bit bizarre. Some nails the polish went on perfect in one coat and only needed one coat, while other nails were really streaky and there wasn't good coverage. So I used two coats to even out those other nails and they dried pretty much perfect. The odd nail is a bit streaky but overall the polish dried evenly and well covered. With flash this colour does look a lot like my JOE Fresh Polish I wore earlier in the summer (post here) but in natural light you can definitely see a difference, Jessica is darker and doesn't have the iridescence that wave "sort of" had. Kate dotted on as little clouds Kate: soft pearly white. I didn't do much with Kate but i wanted to try out a dotting tool and make some nice clouds on an accent nail. I can't speak for how well it applies to a full nail but the consistency when I placed it on my paper for my dotting tool seemed nice, not runny and not gloopy. And the colour wasn't too sheer so my clouds went on perfect the first time. When I use Kate again I will weigh in with how it applies across the whole nail. I still think I'll do an Olympic Nail and post it for you guys because I am so happy with how Canada & Great Britain are doing & I've seen some well done Olympic nails on Instagram. Let me know what you have on your fingers and toes right now! xo
