Julep | February Maven Box

Picture
I got my February Julep Maven box just over a week ago and now that midterm hell hath past I can upload more photos of the polishes than what was seen in my latest video (linked below).

This month's box came with the exciting new polymer top coat that is suppose to perform like a gel without being such a pain to remove. I'm excited to see how well this holds up because it seems that a top coat never lasts for me aha. Another little bonus was a small (& very portable) eyelash curler! I was a little stunned by this but am excited to try it; there was also chocolate ;).
The three polishes that I got this month also have the new "Swatch Me" stickers on the top so that if you store your polish in a container you can identify them without having to always pull them up. I have a DIY version of this coming up in the next few days so check back for that!
     Now onto the colours!

The new polymer topcoat
So from my initial swatches I'm LOVING Rebel, it was hard to capture the awesome rainbow it displays but when I use it in a manicure I'll try hard to get more photos of it. It was pretty opaque with one coat but two makes it perfect and the same goes for Marion. One coat had great coverage, two was perfect. I can't say the same thing for Joan. I was really excited for Joan but I found the polish to be streaky and hard to work with. I'm hoping that next time I use it I can give it some more TLC for a better finish. Unfortunately, you don't see too many of the golden flecks in the polish once it's on your nail which is a bit disappointing but I will definitely give it another shot and hope for the best.
So that's all for my first impressions of the polishes! Tell me if you would rock any of these polishes. Oh and here's a little surprise....you can get a FREE JULEP MAVEN BOX! If you've never subscribed to Julep before you can get your first box free when you punch in the code FREEBOX here.

i've never tried julep polishes. i usually go with etsy. but then again, i'm a nail art/nail polish newbie. i really like this vlog tutorial, so easy. i like quick and easy diys. i have a baby, and i don't always have time to do lengthy things. how do you take the glittery nail polish off? i always have such a hard time!

Love, Moon
