JulepAlthough some people believe summer time is over, if the warm weather is still around, then you can still totally rock all of these bright shades of nail polish! Here are 8 great shades to fit everyone's summer time mood. I would love to know what your go to summer colour is! In general, my go-to colours for summer are teal, coral and white. But summer always screams for lots of colour, so I've selected some great shades from Julep. Of course I had to order them in ROYGBV because it is just so pleasing to the eye. I wanted to share not only a variety of colours but also a variety of finishes. I have sheer, jelly, cream, satin and holographic polishes, so something to suit everyone. It was hard to decide what colour I was going to actually wear after swatching them all, keep reading to find out which it was! Gigi, Pam, and Juliana are the first few shades, two of which are more sheer/jelly finishes, which make them a bit more subtle. Gigi, although sheer, is definitely still bright. She's a tangerine shade that can be built up with more coats. If you have longer nails, like myself, your free edge will appear lighter, which may or may not bother you. Pam is much a bolder orange and is shimmery, so not as subtle a shade but really does scream summer! Juliana is a very office friendly shade, if you have any limitations while at work. It is sheer and has a nice iridescence to it. It is more of a coral shade with that pearly sheen. Catrina and Sam are not for the faint of heart. They are both very bright shades of yellow and green. You can see that Catrina also stains a bit around the cuticles (I definitely thought I did a better job removing it...) Sam is a very chartreuse shade. I would say this is a very interesting shade of green, but it's not as saturated as a regular green which is why I like it for summer. You could almost describe it as a saturated pastel shade. These final shades help us round out the summer rainbow. Iris and Tali are two very unique blues. Iris reminds me of the metallic wrapper on Easter chocolate eggs. It's a super bold blue that makes me think of the ocean, whereas Tali is a softer holographic blue which is a bit of a softer shade.
Ming is another jelly style polish that is also very office safe and also allows for a bit more colour, without it screaming loudly. Again your free edge will be lighter with a longer nail. I think this would also be a really cool colour to use as a base for a French manicure. So let me know which of these shades is your favourite! What colour(s) do you love to wear in summer? Or do the seasons not impact what colours you wear? I ended up wearing Tali after swatching all these colours and I love blues because they make me think of a beautiful sky or water.
