5/27/2021 3 Comments 7 Ways to Style White Jeans
With Spring here and Summer around the corner, I wanted to share with you the many ways you can style a pair of white jeans. I think any white apparel is perfect for spring and summer and really helps to emphasize even the slightest of tans. So I've put together seven looks ranging from a more casual vibe to looks for a date. Let me know which is your favourite!
If you have been following me for any length of time, you would know that my three fave colours for summer are teal, coral and white. First off, they look amazing together, they are bright and cheerful and they all work to enhance your skin. I'm not a big tanner (sad reality) so any clothing that will help to make even the remote hint of a tan show, I'm here for...
This first look is actually the look that inspired the whole video. I quite often wear this top for work and one day near the end of winter I thought to myself that it would look great with my white jeans...then a few weeks (er..months) later...here we are!
This top is from a brand called Rum Reggae and I was gifted it, so I'm not sure where it was purchased. The print itself just screams summer with white palm trees splattered all over it. For this look I wanted the top to just pop, so I kept all of the accessories white. You could very easily swap out the heels [similar here] for a pair of white runners/trainers, but unfortunately I have not found a pair I'm overly keen on at the moment. I've had this white purse for ages and it's a bit worse for wear to be frank, it is in need of a clean, but I love that it can be a cross body or top handle and it holds a lot [similar here]. My jeans were from Charlotte Russe but you can pick them up at Old Navy or really anywhere that sells jeans.
I'm honestly not sure which look is my favourite, but this is the look, from head to toe, that I would definitely gravitate towards...a lot. The wrap was gifted from a subscription box by the brand Show Me Your Mumu. Shein has two similar ones here and here. I cuffed the jeans since the gladiator sandals run a little higher. I know they aren't quite as trendy as they once were, but I think they are one of my favourite pairs of shoes in the summer. This is actually my second pair...I wore my first pair out (literally lost the sole while walking in a mall)! The tank is the perfect olive tone and such a flattering cut, though it runs a bit long if you're like me #teamshorttorso. Kit and Ace don't seem to sell this exact style anymore, but they have this and you can get a ribbed one at Old Navy here.
The heels in this look definitely elevate it from a super casual look, but can easily be changed out to a trainer, or flats. This cropped denim vest is from Forever21 years ago, but you can find some good looking vests here on Amazon's Best Sellers list. The blue suede purse has been in my collection for eternity, and I felt the colour fit so well with the vest. I don't really care for a full denim on denim look when it comes to the vest, but give the colour difference I felt like it looked nice with the white. The nude tank top is a super simple layering piece from Walmart. it's their seamless cami here. The best part is you can technically wear it both ways, so a small v-neck one way and a scoop the other. Tied in that nude with the heeled sandals from Call It Spring, they don't have any with a tie up detail anymore, but there is a simple version here and the block heel version here.
If you have been following me for a while you'll know that I got these Steve Madden heels two years ago and have only worn them twice because they absolutely slaughtered my ankles. Thought I had to break them in but just cannot. I am determined to find a way to wear them without blisters from hell. So if you have any suggestions for blister protection, let me know! This strapless top is from Gap and is another favourite of mine for summer because of the elasticated waist with a flirty ruffle. It helps to give you a bit of shape and I threw in a champagne clutch.
For the next couple of looks I wanted to style different button up tops. This Shein top [similar] is a satin finish, so while nicely reflective of light, it is definitely a stage 10 clinger. If it didn't cling as much I think the oversized fit would be reflected better. Decided on a mini bag with a black and white snakeskin print along with some white sandals [similar]. This look can be a brunch or lunch date, could be worn out to the mall (now that we can do that again).
I have quite fond memories of this top as it was one that I wore my first day of teaching full-time when I returned to Canada. I love the way it fits and the vertical stripes on it I find very flattering. Of course I needed to pair my newest bag with this look for a real pop of colour. Picked this purse up from Walmart [similar] end of last summer I believe and never really got to wear it. I love that it has a cross body strap as well as top handles so I find it very versatile. I wore a pair of blue velvet flats that just add a touch of texture to the look [similar].
The final look is also inspired by another post I want to make focusing on black and white outfits. Let me know if that is something you'd like to see styled! For this outfit, I pulled out a peplum top that has been buried for too long in my closet. It has a nice lace neck detail, key hole in the back and a flattering peplum waist. I show the look with and without the kimono style cardigan [similar] that I purchased from New Look when I lived in England. This is my date night look so I paired it with simple black heel sandal [similar]. You could definitely take this opportunity to wear a pop of colour with shoes and handbag.
So those are all of the looks! I would love to hear which is your favourite and how you like to style white bottoms in spring/summer. Be sure to check out my reel as well as the full video below. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel and follow my instagram.
