5/21/2013 0 Comments Celebrating Ends & New Beginnings So I've been meaning to write this post for the last few weeks but needed to enjoy a bit of my time off and take it all in first. I'm officially done my undergrad! WEEEEE!!!!! I'm so excited & so shocked to be quite honest the past four years really has flown by. So much has happened over the last four years that sometimes it's a bit hard to keep things straight in my mind, but one things for sure, it was quite the adventure. Looking back over my years at university really makes me (and my friends) wonder how much better we could have been in high school aha. I was a 4 year honour roll student in high school but looking back at assignments I had to do I could have easily done that much better. But hindsight is always 20/20. I always try to make the best of things and since I'd had such a blast in high school I was determined to make university even better. One of the greatest things I've done through my years at university was become involved with Frosh (or Orientation Week as it is sometimes referred as). I cannot imagine what my life would be like without it, I've met so many people and made so many friends through Frosh, inspired others to become part of Frosh and the icing on the cake is when I have Froshies come up to me during the school year and tell me "You were one of the best leaders and because of you I want to be a leader." My heart swells when I hear that because it means I did my job & did it well. I always want to inspire others, I believe that's one of the reasons I've always wanted to be a teacher. I've done things that other's have told me I can't and it gives you a real drive to do more & help others achieve their goals as well. One of the new beginnings for me is that I was accepted into Teachers College last month and will be pursuing my Bachelor of Education for the Intermediate/Senior position for Geography & History. With this I will be able to teach grades 7-12; I've always preferred teaching high school to elementary schools but if I had the chance to teach the Gifted Program that I once belonged to I think I would try my hand at elementary school. But with this new beginning comes a sad end. This is the first time in 4 years I will be unable to do Frosh. I learned just the other day that we actually begin classes in the last week of August to give us a jump start before our placements commence and I have classes all through Frosh week. I'm devastated because I have already begun working on this years Frosh & am now unable to attend the week's activities. I wanted to go out with a bang on my 5th & final Frosh but it seems that is not in the cards for me. I will still be doing what I can over the rest of the summer but it will be truly difficult for me to sit in courses & placement while I know what is happening out at UTM. I have a formal this weekend for Graduates, I have a Graduation Reception on June 6th & my actual Graduation ceremony (or Convocation) is June 10th. So lots of official hoopla going on in the next couple of weeks which is exciting. I'm back to working at Old Navy but at a closer location so I'm sure you will all be seeing more ON garb in outfit posts over the summer. I've also decided to start some freelance makeup and styling gig and a few friends of mine are helping me out by being my little models ahaha. I am also delighted to say that a friend of mine whom I used to work with has honoured me with doing her wedding makeup *insert squeals & flailing here* in August. I am hoping to also do some makeup for formals/proms/grads/wedding (attendees) over the next few months as well which should be fun. But that seems to be it for graduation stuff! I do apologize that I haven't been posting much as of late, but as much as this is an exciting time in my life it's also a very uncertain time and I've had a lot to deal with recently and it seems to be taking an emotional toll on me so I do hope you understand. I am trying to find a balance amongst many things and hoping that I can begin a new routine for blogging & much more. Thanks for stopping by xo PS. here are some goofy photos I took with a friend right after we finished our last ever university exam ;) High fives for finishing & hilarious jump shots where my hair didn't know what to do LOL
