So I was on facebook earlier and a friend of mine invited me to an event listed as save the sharks. I love marine life (although I always preferred dolphins to sharks) and want to help to protect it. The event had a link to the petition to help save the sharks and I was curious to see what I was actually signing my name to and here's what I found...
It's called Project AWARE and this is how they open up their "About the Movement" section,
"Project AWARE Foundation is a growing movement of scuba divers protecting the ocean planet - one dive at a time."
They have two main ocean issues - Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, although they acknowledge that there are many other issues plaguing our oceans they want to help in anyway they can. They post FAQs that you can download as a PDF if there are other things you'd like to know about them.
They have 5 links across the top of their site to help guide you to areas that you may find useful and across the bottom of their pages you have the option to see their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other sites they have pages on.
This is their site: http://www.projectaware.org/
