That's right, with summer comes heat, heat means outside gatherings which equal BBQ TIME!
Since today there wasn't suppose to be any rain one of my girls decided to have a get together and BBQ some steaks, chicken, burgers and hot dogs, and lets not forget drinks and chips. So we just sat under the shade of her table umbrella but I chose to sit in the sun (seeing as I was the only person who had the desire for darker skin -- all my lovely ladies are of the darker persuasion). We were blasting music, having good conversation, and overall enjoying ourselves. We did have a bit of an issue trying to keep the BBQ lit because it is a coal one not a gas one but it worked out in the end; the food was good (and most importantly cooked!).
Then all of a sudden everyone noticed their phone were telling them that there were was a severe thunderstorm watch and it hit us less than 15 minutes later and we all scurried inside, moved some carpets that were outside drying (funny enough) and all the chair cushions inside as well and then carried on eating and talking inside as if nothing had changed. The storm did help to cut the humidity which is nice but I think everyone is getting a little sick of this weather pattern: hot and sticky all day => storm at night. Today I appreciated the storm though so I'm not complaining.
This was the first BBQ of many for this summer, each better than the last! =)
PS. I managed not to get fried today so GO ME
