I took a break from painting my nails recently, giving my nails the chance to breathe but last week I decided to pick up one of my autumn polishes. I selected one from my ever growing Julep collection and I think this shade is a great one for the season.
Artificial light no flash
Price: Regular $14 / Maven Price $11.20
Where to buy: Julep & Sephora is now selling them as well
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Synthetic Fragrances
If you are interested in becoming a Julep Maven, and having a monthly subscription you can check it out HERE & take the style quiz and see which box suits you the most (you are free to change this if you don't like the result!)
Rachel by Julep is a great colour and they describe it as "Warm, rich copper shimmer" and I wouldn't disagree but you could easily call it a bronze. It has got a great shine and doesn't look dull at all.
Applying it was easily done, there was no clumping and the polish wasn't to thick/gloopy. I used only two coats in the swatches but if I wasn't in a rush I would have applied a third. It had decent opacity (thinner at the tips - not sure why) with two coats but I think it would be perfect with three.
I did NOT apply a top coat and this was a bad idea, the polish was chipped by the next day and went downhill from there. I WILL reapply this polish in the coming weeks to see how much better it is with three coats & a top coat and will update this post when I've done so. I did want to share it will you now though and do a comparison with the future post.
I think this is a great colour especially for Autumn so minus the chipping issue I think it's a colour worth owning. I haven't seen a lot of colours that are comparable to it but if you have I would LOVE to know what they are!
