So I've decided for several reasons that this Spring I am going to make an improved effort to work out. A few friends and I are planning to purchase the Tone It Up meal plan but as of yet have not been able to purchase it. In the mean time I have decided to work out since I have not worked out for quite some time (bad Sydnee!). The other day is when that journey began...
The other day I was really in the mood for a good at home workout that did not require a lot of equipment because when I'm working out at home I feel like motivated when I have to round up a bunch of equipment before I can even start. So obviously the first place I went to find a good work out is on YouTube, right to the lovely Tone It Up girls Karina & Katrina! One of the most recent workouts they posted is the Under the Sea workout. As a huge fan of The Little Mermaid and being called Ariel for a very long time it instantly caught my attention and the fact that the only equipment needed was my body I was like OK Let's do this! So I laid out my yoga mat, got some gym clothes on and started.
I love how all the names of the moves were some type of under water animal and they do an awesome job explaining exactly what it is you need to do and how to do it properly. They go through the routine once and its up to you if you want to repeat it two more times for a full workout. I did and let me tell you I felt great but I also felt like I wasn't going to be able to walk for the rest of the day. My glutes felt awesome (and slightly wobbly ahah). I followed it up with Karena's Stretch & Release routine and it was honestly the best ending to a work out. I highly suggest doing Karena's routine after any workout you do with them or by yourself.
I'm planning on hitting up my campus gym now that summer classes have begun because I will be around it so I have no excuse and with the Tone It Up girls I have no excuse! They have printouts to all the workouts so that you can bring them to the gym if they require equipment you don't have. I'm also going to start swimming laps on days I want to do cardio or cool off from a particularly intense workout. I know I said that last summer and totally failed but I hope to swim at least a few times aha! But main goal is generally working out! This routine is going to be in my workout routine quite a bit because its quick, effective and great to do at home!
